The ‘High School’ Red Band Trailer Delivers Nipple Rings and Munchies

Anchor Bay is finally releasing High School on June 1, over two years after it made an impact at the Sundance Film Festival and was quickly picked up for distribution. I’m not entirely sure what the wait was, but perhaps it’s the fact we’re talking about a stoner comedy and not a specifically timed art piece. I don’t believe there is ever a right or wrong time to release a stoner comedy, you just throw it at the wall and see if it sticks.

Attempting to gain your eye balls, Anchor Bay has followed the continuing trend of giving away the farm and released a red band trailer for the upcoming pic, which centers on soon-to-be valedictorian Henry Burke (Matt Bush) who, after taking his first hit of marijuana, learns his school principal (Michael Chiklis) has instituted a zero tolerance drug policy and will be administering a mandatory drug test for all students.

Henry’s decision is to team up with his stoner friend (Sean Marquette), steal some weed from law student-turned-drug-dealer Psycho Ed (Adrien Brody) and spike the school’s bake sale brownies, getting the whole school—faculty included—completely stoned out of their minds. Things go wrong after that.

Along with the names mentioned above the film also features Colin Hanks, Adhir Kalyan and Yeardley Smith.

Here’s that red band trailer, enjoy it, but be careful if you’re at work.
