This could be a very big year for Robert Pattinson and perhaps an opportunity to breakaway from the image of being purely of interest to teen girls and TwilightMOMS as his run as Edward Cullen will come to an end with The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 and with that he has David Cronenberg’s film Cosmopolis and what we see trailered here, Bel Ami.
Bel Ami is the story of Georges Duroy (Pattinson), who travels through 1890s Paris, from cockroach ridden garrets to opulent salons, using his wits and powers of seduction to rise from poverty to wealth, from a prostitute’s embrace to passionate trysts with wealthy beauties, in a world where politics and media jostle for influence, where sex is power and celebrity an obsession.
Joining Pattinson here are Uma Thurman, Christina Ricci, Kristin Scott Thomas, Colm Meaney and Holliday Grainger. Have a look at the trailer below and look for the film on iTunes on May 4 and in limited theaters on June 8.
