Watch the Trailer for ‘Friends with Kids’

Roadside Attractions picked up Jennifer Westfeldt‘s Friends with Kids out of the Toronto International Film Festival last year and has now set a March 9, 2012 release date for the film that features a large ensemble cast including Bridesmaids stars Jon Hamm, Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph and Chris O’Dowd that includes along with Adam Scott, Megan Fox, Edward Burns as well as Westfeldt who not only directed the film but stars in and wrote it as well.

I saw Friends with Kids in Toronto last year and in my review gave it a B- and opened my review writing:

Friends with Kids boasts a terrific cast that elevates the laughs above that of your average romantic comedy, but the story can’t help but devolve from unique and entertaining to inevitable and generic, which is a shame considering the first 80 minutes or so are really quite strong.

The story follows a group of friends and as kids and marriage become a part of the picture two friends (Scott and Westfeldt) decide to take their friendship to another level… No, not marriage, they decide to have a kid together in an attempt to avoid the pitfalls of marriage. Based on what I wrote above you can probably figure out how it all comes together, but there are some genuinely solid moments leading up to the ultimate finale.
