New Trailer for Rainn Wilson’s Vigilante Feature ‘Super’

I saw James Gunn’s Super at the Toronto Film Festival last year and had some fun with it, but it is totally a film you need to see with friends and preferably with a lively crowd as it will inspire boisterous laughter with a group and doesn’t quite have the same effect when you’re watching it in a press screening. For that reason I feel my Toronto review is one of those reviews you need to read with something of a caveat.

Super stars Rainn Wilson as a man you turns vigilante when his wife (Liv Tyler) leaves him after falling under the influence of the local crime boss (Kevin Bacon). Convinced he’s touched by the actual hand of God (voiced by Rob Zombie), Wilson ultimately teams up with Ellen Page to take down the bad guys.

Yes, it’s as ridiculous as it sounds, but it is also a lot of fun (and violent) and you probably now know why I suggest you see it with friends.

IFC is preparing to release the film in theaters on April 1. You can read my review from Toronto right here and check out the trailer directly below.
