I’ve watched this new international trailer for Massy Tadjedin’s Last Night and have decided it’s okay for you to watch it, although if it were up to me everything that’s shown from about 1:30 in would not have been included in the trailer. This isn’t necessarily a film that can be spoiled, but to know more information than is necessary can only hurt your viewing of any film and with this trailer it will only cause you to either speculate or assume you know what’s going to happen, which isn’t the best way to approach this story. The less you know the better in this case.
Perhaps the simplest way to give you the story details is to regurgitate the short logline telling you the film is a romantic drama revolving around a happily married couple (Keira Knightley and Sam Worthington) who are each tempted to stray as the husband travels on a business trip with a desirable colleague (Eva Mendes) while the wife encounters her past love (Guillaume Canet) at home.

Last Night has yet to be picked up for domestic distribution, primarily due to the fall out of Miramax, but I suspect it will somehow find its way into limited theaters one way or another next year before arriving on DVD. It would be nice if it got a full roll out, but that’s beginning to seem more and more unlikely.
