Check Out the ‘Ong Bak 3’ Trailer Now with English Subtitles

Last Friday I posted the new bone-crushing international trailer for Ong Bak 3 and today I have the same trailer, but this time with a bit more info… English language subtitles.

I won’t waste time going into any further specifics, but I am obviously excited for this flick as Tony Jaa is one hell of an entertaining action star and his films are different to say the least. If you’ve yet to introduce yourself to the man be sure to check out the original Ong Bak, skip The Protector and then give Ong Bak 2 a shot.

At first glance, it would appear Ong Bak 2 has nothing to do with the original. However, one thing I am curious about is Jaa played a character named Ting in the first film and Tien in the second, and in the trailer there is a glimpse of a statue that looks incredibly similar to the sacred Buddha statuette called Ong Bak from the first film… Is it possible Ong Bak 2 and 3 are unpublicized prequels to the first film and at the end of 3, Tien will retire to a small village and change his name to Ting? Perhaps the Ong Bak statue holds Tien’s soul, which is the main reason it’s so coveted. I don’t know, just spit-balling…

Now, here’s that trailer. Ong Bak 3 hits Thai theaters on May 5, and there are no details as to when it may arrive in the States.
