Clips and Trailer in First Look at the Duplass Bros’ ‘Cyrus’

Well, if word out of Sundance is any indication the Mark and Jay Duplass’s follow-up to Baghead sounds like it’s quite the film. The film is titled Cyrus and will be released later this year by Fox Searchlight. Here are a few quotes from bloggers taking in the film at Sundance and posting their immediate reactions on Twitter.

Neil Miller from FilmSchoolRejects.com pours on a little exaggeration saying, “Cyrus was the single most awkward movie ever, maybe. A great next step in the progression of the Duplass Bros.”

Drew McWeeny from HitFix.com keeps it simple writing, “Cyrus? Outstanding.”

Peter Sciretta from SlashFilm.com writes, “The mainstream Duplass brothers experiment was a success. Fox Searchlight has a winner with Cyrus.”

Anne Thompson from IndieWire.com adds, “Duplass bros score with Cyrus.”

Unfortunately that’s all I could find, but it’s a start if you consider Twitter posts a viable place to get opinions. If you don’t, then make up your own mind as I have the trailer and two clips for you directly below.

The film stars John C. Reilly, Marisa Tomei, Jonah Hill and Catherine Keener and centers on a recently divorced man (Reilly) who meets the woman of his dreams (Marisa Tomei) who has a teenage son (Hill) who has no interest in sharing his mother with a new man.
