Just when you though the creepy kid genre was played out another one pops up. However, this one comes with Vera Farmiga and Peter Sarsgaard in tow as the trailer for The Orphan has hit the Internet.
Outside of the adoption angle it seems to have a lot in common with last year’s Joshua (also starred Farmiga), which wasn’t great, but wasn’t bad either. The film follows Farmiga and Sarsgaard as Kate and John, a couple that has just lost their unborn child and decides to adopt in an effort to put their past demons behind them. A little girl named Esther draws the couple in, but almost as soon as they get her home the shit hits the fan.
