Domestic Trailer for Steve McQueen’s ‘Hunger’ Arrives

The official trailer for Steve McQueen’s Hunger debuted at the New York Times and I am still chomping at the bit to see this film that made such a splash on the festival circuit last year and even made it into several top tens at the end of the year. It did see a mini-release last year in December and will see yet another one on March 20 in New York and expand to major markets on the 27th, which is when I hope to finally catch it.

The performance of Michael Fassbender has been talked about by plenty of folks as the film follows life in the Maze Prison, Northern Ireland, with an interpretation of the highly emotive events surrounding the 1981 IRA Hunger Strike led by Bobby Sands (Fassbender). With an epic eye for detail, the film provides a timely exploration of what happens when body and mind are pushed to the uttermost limit.

Check out the trailer below and I have six stills from the film right here.
