In the process of getting this one prepped for compression I caught the opening five seconds or so and can’t help but get this continual vibe telling me Watchmen is going to be all style and little substance filled with so much slow motion we will want to watch it at 1.5x speed at home and boring us to tears along the way.
I hope I am wrong because the style director Zack Snyder has obviously brought is impressive, but I can’t help but be a little skeptical. Of course, that may work to my benefit as I go into my screening expecting very little, and perhaps getting more than I ever expected.
