Making fun of die-hard Twilight fans is sort of unfair because a lot of the outspoken really cut-throat ones are relatively young, easily impressionable and just have a crush on their source material and will likely grow out of it (at least the overly passionate part). It’s either that or they are older mothers that have found some connection to their past through the story, but they aren’t the outrageously vocal ones.
However, people that are still Star Wars fans, and I am talking the die-hard folk that still troll the Star Wars fan sites, dress up as stormtroopers and Fanboys before Steve “Drillbit Taylor” Brill went in and did some reshoots are pretty freaking crazy if you ask me.
But it seems all their crying and complaining against what was deemed “Darth Weinstein” has worked and on February 6, 2009 fans will finally get to see Fanboys a film about a group of Star Wars nerds trying to sneak their cancerous friend onto the Skywalker Ranch so he could see Star Wars, Episode I: The Phantom Menace before he died. The synopsis doesn’t read like that at all and the trailer doesn’t either, but Kyle Newman is recognized as the only director at the end of the trailer with no mention of Brill so I am assuming the story is still the same.
The trailer is far from impressive and it is no surprise this film, which was originally set to be released in August of 2007, is getting a Dumping Ground 2009 release. Give it a watch below and forget about it forever.
