A new trailer and poster have just arrived in my hot little hands and along with that Jeff Wells over at Hollywood Elsewhere points out to Oz ticketing websites that have already begun selling tickets for Australia as it opens on November 26, but is obviously gaining much more attention in the Outback than it is here considering it’s Australian helmer, lead actors and subject matter.
The ticketing sites also offer up the running time for the flick and as Jeff points out one lists it at 170 minutes and the other at 177 minutes. It’s hardly a discrepancy that concerns me, but it does make me realize that Fox’s last chance at releasing a good movie in 2008 that is not animated will now clock in at just under three hours and I dare say I don’t expect it to match Titanic and considering it is a love story as much as it is anything else it will be fighting an uphill battle all the way.
As for the new trailer and poster you can check them both out just below and I have also added a new quad poster to the gallery which you can check out right here.
Australia is directed by Baz Luhrman and stars Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman. For more on the film click here.
