A New Spectre Video Blog Teases the Plot of the Latest James Bond

Two weeks after the production’s last update, Sam Mendes is back with a new video blog that offers another behind-the-scenes look at Spectre – the 24th entry in EON Productions, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and Sony Pictures Entertainment’s James Bond franchise. Check it out in the player below and you’ll find a new photo underneath. In related news, Empire has released the first photos of Dave Bautista as Mr. Hinx and Lea Seydoux as Dr. Madeleine Swann. You can view those in the gallery as well.

“The reasons I’m doing the second Bond movie are the reasons I would do any movie, really, which is all to do with the story,” says Mendes, “And in this movie, ‘Spectre,’ what you have is a movie entirely driven by Bond. He is on a mission from the very beginning.”

According the previously-released synopsis, Spectre begins when a cryptic message from Bond’s past sends him on a trail to uncover a sinister organization. While M battles political forces to keep the secret service alive, Bond peels back the layers of deceit to reveal the terrible truth behind SPECTRE. In the new video, Mendes goes into a bit more depth about the internal crisis that Daniel Craig’s James Bond will be facing.

“It’s about whether or not to pursue the life he’s always pursued,” Mendes continues, “Whether he matters and is he going to continue or not. And you’re going to have to come to see the movie to find out whether he does.”

Also starring Léa Seydoux, Dave Bautista, Ben Wishaw, Naomie Harris, Ralph Fiennes, Christoph Waltz, Monica Bellucci, Andrew Scott and Rory Kinnear, Spectre hits theaters on November 6, 2015.
