Jessica Chastain Confronts Oscar Isaac in a New Clip From A Most Violent Year

J.C. Chandor’s intense drama A Most Violent Year has just revealed a tense new clip featuring two-time Academy Award nominee Jessica Chastain (The HelpZero Dark Thirty) and leading man Oscar Isaac (Star Wars: The Force AwakensInside Llewyn Davis). Set during the winter of 1981 — statistically one of the most crime-ridden of New York City’s history — A Most Violent Year also stars David Oyelowo (InterstellarSelma) and Albert Brooks (Finding NemoDrive). Chandor, whose credits include Academy Award nominated films Margin Call and All is Lost, writes and directs the story that follows the lives of an immigrant and his family as they attempt to capitalize on the American Dream, while the rampant violence, decay, and corruption of the day drag them in and threaten to destroy all they have built.

It was also announced earlier this week that A Most Violent Year received top honors from the National Board of Review, naming the film the best of 2014. Chastain and Isaac were also awarded for their performances in the Best Actor (a tie with Michael Keaton’s performance in Birdman) and Best Supporting Actress categories.

A Most Violent Year‘s limited run begins in New York and Los Angeles on December 31 with plans to expand in early 2015.
