Exclusive Bottom Feeders Trailer Previews Crime Drama

ComingSoon is excited to debut the Bottom Feeders trailer for Vincent D’Alessandro’s directorial debut.

The indie crime drama will be released on digital and on demand on April 30 from Dark Star Pictures. The film, which is said to be “reminiscent of the early works of Harmony Korine,” focuses on a homeless 20-year-old living in rural Pennsylvania. It stars Willem Ehrenfreund, Jenny Zwigard, Graham Poore, and Jonny Nichols.

“Bottom Feeders follows twenty-year-old Dmitri as he navigates a toxic relationship with his infantile father and dreams of escaping the brutal world of homelessness in rural Pennsylvania,” says the synopsis. “When an old childhood friend, Benny, returns home with his affluent girlfriend, Dmitri sees a chance for a new life and becomes entangled in their relationship.”

“I realized early in my filmmaking career that I wanted to tell stories about young people living on the edges of society. The often abandoned and forgotten youth of America. Dmitri, the main character of Bottom Feeders, is one of those youths,” says D’Alessandro. “Promised the world by his father, and now having watched that world disintegrate due to a crippling housing market and his father’s mistakes, Dmitri is stuck in a place he was always so sure he would escape.”

D’Alessandro previously filmed shorts that have screened at festivals such as BFI Future Film Festival, NFFTY, and NewFilmmakers NY.
