Red, White & Royal Blue Trailer Released for R-Rated Rom-Com

Amazon Studios has dropped the official Red, White & Royal Blue trailer for its forthcoming romantic comedy, based on Casey McQuiston’s 2019 novel. The film adaptation is scheduled to make its debut on August 11, exclusively on Prime Video.

The video highlights the enemies-to-lovers story of Britain’s Prince Henry and U.S. president’s son Alex Claremont-Diaz. They find themselves falling for each other after being forced to pretend to be each other’s friends following a cake incident at a royal wedding. However, due to being public figures, their relationship will face different challenges.

Who’s the Cast of Red, White & Royal Blue?

Red, White & Royal Blue is directed and executive produced by Tony winner Matthew López from a screenplay he co-wrote with Ted Malawer. Joining Taylor Zakhar Perez and Nicholas Galitzine are Clifton Collins Jr., Sarah Shahi, Rachel Hilson, with Stephen Fry and Uma Thurman, Ellie Bamber, Thomas Flynn, Malcolm Atobrah, Akshay Khanna, Sharon D Clarke, Aneesh Sheth, and Juan Castano.

“Alex Claremont-Diaz, the son of the President of the United States (Uma Thurman), and Britain’s Prince Henry have a lot in common: Stunning good looks, undeniable charisma, international popularity … and a total disdain for each other,” reads the synopsis. “Separated by an ocean, their long-running feud hasn’t really been an issue, until a disastrous—and very public—altercation at a royal event becomes tabloid fodder, driving a potential wedge in U.S./British relations at the worst possible time. Going into damage-control mode, their families and handlers force the two rivals into a staged “truce.” But as Alex and Henry’s icy relationship unexpectedly begins to thaw into a tentative friendship, the friction that existed between them sparks something deeper than they ever expected.”

The film is executive produced by McQuiston, Michael Riley McGrath, and Michael S. Constable, with Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schecter serving as producers. Amazon Studios first acquired the rights to the novel back in 2019.
