Nine Perfect Strangers Season 2 Set, Murray Bartlett in Talks to Join Cast

Hulu has officially ordered Season 2 of hit psychological thriller series Nine Perfect Strangers. The renewal comes nearly two years after the drama wrapped up its first season. Oscar winner Nicole Kidman is expected to reprise her role as Masha.

Variety also brings word that The Last of Us actor Murray Bartlett has entered final negotiations to join the next installment. Joining Kidman are Golden Globe nominee Dolly De Leon (Triangle of Sadness), Liv Ullmann (Persona), Maisie Richardson Sellers (Jagged Mind), and Aras Aydin (Escape.)

What is Nine Perfect Strangers about?

“The limited series takes place at a boutique health-and-wellness resort that promises healing and transformation in just a span of 10 days,” reads the synopsis. “It will follow the story of nine stressed city dwellers as they try to get on a path that will improve and better their way of living. Watching over them is the resort’s director Masha, a woman on a mission to reinvigorate their tired minds and bodies. However, soon they’ll realize that everything isn’t what it seems to be as these nine strangers have no idea what is about to hit them.”

Nine Perfect Strangers Season 1 was based on author Liane Moriarty’s novel. It also featured an all-star cast that included Melissa McCarthy, Luke Evans, Michael Shannon, Regina Hall, and Samara Weaving.

Nine Perfect Strangers was created by David E. Kelley (Big Littles Lies) and John-Henry Butterworth.
