Stars at Noon Trailer: Margaret Qualley & Joe Alwyn Lead A24 Thriller

A24 has released the official trailer for Stars at Noon, its upcoming romantic thriller based on Denis Johnson’s 1986 novel of the same name. The film is currently scheduled to hit the theaters on October 14.

The video features an American journalist who gets instantly smitten by a mysterious Englishman while stranded in a foreign country. While falling in love with each other, they’ll find themselves caught in the middle of a dangerous conspiracy.

Stars at Noon is directed by Claire Denis from a screenplay she co-wrote with Léa Mysius and Andrew Litvack. The film stars Joe Alwyn, Margaret Qualley, Benny Safdie, Danny Ramirez, and John C. Reilly.

“A young American journalist (Qualley) stranded in present-day Nicaragua falls for an enigmatic Englishman (Alwyn) who seems like her best chance of escape,” reads the synopsis. “She soon realizes, though, that he may be in even greater danger than she is.”

The film adaptation had its world premiere at the 2022 Canes Film Festival, where it won the Grand Prix. It is produced by Olivier Delbosc and Olivier Gauriat.
