Oppenheimer Teaser Trailer: Cillian Murphy is the Man Who Moved the Earth

Universal Pictures has dropped the first Oppenheimer teaser for Christopher Nolan’s forthcoming biographical thriller drama, which will be available for streaming on July 21, 2023. The teaser was first shown in theaters during the opening weekend of Jordan Peele’s latest horror film Nope.

The video offers our first glimpse into Nolan’s next star-studded epic. It features Cillian Murphy as the man who forever changed the world with his destructive creation. It also includes dialogues from other characters as they talked about the significance and consequence of J. Robert Oppenheimer’s contribution to the invention of the atomic bomb.

“The IMAX-shot epic thriller thrusts audiences into the pulse-pounding paradox of the enigmatic man who must risk destroying the world in order to save it,” reads the logline.

Oppenheimer stars Cillian Murphy (Peaky Blinders), Emily Blunt (Edge of Tomorrow), Robert Downey Jr. (Avengers: Endgame), Matt Damon (Good Will Hunting), Rami Malek (Bohemian Rhapsody), Florence Pugh (Midsommar), Josh Hartnett (Pearl Harbor), Benny Safdie (Good Time), Dane DeHaan (Chronicle), Jack Quaid (The Boys), Dylan Arnold (You Season 3), and more.

The film is written and directed by Christopher Nolan, based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning book “American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer,” by Kai Bird and the late Martin J. Sherwin.

Oppenheimer will be distributed theatrically worldwide by Universal Pictures. Nolan and Emma Thomas are producing through their Syncopy banner, along with Atlas Entertainment’s Charles Roven. The film is being shot on a combination IMAX 65mm and 65mm large-format film in multiple locations throughout the U.S. including New Mexico, California, and New Jersey.
