Death on the Nile Trailer & Poster: Everyone Is a Suspect

20th Century Studios has revealed a brand new Death on the Nile trailer for Kenneth Branagh’s long-delayed mystery thriller, featuring an all-star ensemble cast led by Branagh and Gal Gadot. The sequel is currently scheduled to arrive in theaters on February 11, 2022.

“Ken’s sweeping, elegant vision for this classic story deserves to be seen on the biggest screen possible,” 20th Century Studios production president Steve Asbell said in a statement. “We’re so proud of this film, our brilliant cast, and the stellar work that went into bringing Death on the Nile to screen. We know that audiences can’t wait to experience Hercule Poirot’s next adventure, and we’re thrilled to continue working with Ken as he lends his masterful storytelling vision to the newest film in this celebrated franchise.”

The video, which you can check out below along with the poster, continues to tease Hercule Poirot’s latest murder mystery as the detective gets invited into a wedding celebration by the bride who is wary that not all of her guests are her friends. It also highlights Poirot’s determination into finding the culprit, which will prove to be difficult as all of the guests have motives against the unidentified victim.

Death on the Nile is based on Agatha Christie’s 1937 novel, which tells the daring mystery thriller about the emotional chaos and deadly consequences triggered by obsessive love. The sequel to 2017’s global hit Murder on the Orient Express, will once again feature the return of Oscar nominee Kenneth Branagh as its director and leading star.

“Belgian sleuth Hercule Poirot’s Egyptian vacation aboard a glamorous river steamer turns into a terrifying search for a murderer when a picture-perfect couple’s idyllic honeymoon is tragically cut short,” reads the synopsis. “Set against an epic landscape of sweeping desert vistas and the majestic Giza pyramids, this tale of unbridled passion and incapacitating jealousy features a cosmopolitan group of impeccably dressed travelers, and enough wicked twists and turns to leave audiences guessing until the final, shocking denouement.”

Joining Branagh’s Hercule Poirot are Tom Bateman, four-time Oscar nominee Annette Bening, Russell Brand, Ali Fazal, Dawn French, Gal Gadot, Armie Hammer, Rose Leslie, Emma Mackey, Sophie Okonedo, Jennifer Saunders, and Letitia Wright.

Adapted for the screen by Michael Green, the film will transport audiences to the 1930s, recreating many of the locations that served as inspiration for Christie’s glamorous, high society thriller.

Death on the Nile is produced by Ridley Scott, Mark Gordon, Simon Kinberg, Kenneth Branagh, Judy Hofflund, and Kevin J. Walsh, with Matthew Jenkins, James Prichard, and Matthew Prichard serving as executive producers.
