Rumble Trailer: Long-Delayed Animated Film Heads to Paramount+

Paramount Pictures has announced that the long-delayed animated film Rumble is officially skipping theaters and has now been set for a streaming debut. Originally scheduled for a February 2022 theatrical release, the sports comedy is currently slated to arrive on December 15, exclusively on Paramount+. Due to the ongoing pandemic, this marks the fifth time that the Will Arnett-led film has changed its release date.

The announcement also comes with the release of a brand new Rumble trailer, which you can check out below, featuring lots of new footage that highlights the competitive world of monster wrestling. It provides us a preview of how dancing will help an underdog monster become the champion he’s meant to be.

Rumble stars Will Arnett (The Lego Batman Movie), Terry Crews (Brooklyn Nine-Nine), Geraldine Viswanathan (The Broken Hearts Gallery), WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns (Hobbs & Shaw), Tony Danza (Who’s the Boss?), WWE RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch (Billions), Susan Kelechi Watson (A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood), ESPN personality Stephen A. Smith (I Think I Love My Wife), Jimmy Tatro (The Wolf of Snow Hollow), Ben Schwartz (Sonic the Hedgehog), and legendary boxing announcer Michael Buffer (Dumbo).

In a world where monster wrestling is a global sport and monsters are superstar athletes, teenage Winnie seeks to follow in her father’s footsteps by coaching a loveable underdog monster into a champion.

Rumble is directed by Hamish Grieve from a screenplay written by Etan Cohen (Men in Black 3) and Matt Lieberman (Scoob). Executive Producers include Jeff Fierson, Susan Levison, Richard Lowell, Steve O’Brien, Chuck Peil, Frank Smith, and Naia Cucukov.

The film is a co-production between Paramount Animation and WWE Studios and will be produced by Reel FX, Walden Media, Mark Bakshi, and Brad Booker.
