Lionsgate has dropped the Moonfall teaser trailer for Roland Emmerich’s latest action sci-fi disaster epic, starring Halle Berry, Patrick Wilson, and John Bradley.
The Moonfall trailer, which you can check out below along with the new poster, teases a conspiracy story involving Apollo 11’s lost two-minute communication. It highlights the planet’s impending sixth extinction which would have been prevented if the government hadn’t kept their complete moon findings hidden for 50 years.
The film is scheduled to arrive in theaters on Friday, February 4, 2022. Its current theatrical release will pit the high-profile pic against Blumhouse’s new horror thriller The Black Phone, and Paramount Pictures’ Jackass Forever.

“In the film, a mysterious force knocks the Moon from its orbit around Earth and sends it hurtling on a collision course with life as we know it,” reads the synopsis. “With mere weeks before impact and the world on the brink of annihilation, NASA executive and former astronaut Jo Fowler is convinced she has the key to saving us all – but only one astronaut from her past, Brian Harper and a conspiracy theorist K.C. Houseman believes her. These unlikely heroes will mount an impossible last-ditch mission into space, leaving behind everyone they love, only to find out that our Moon is not what we think it is.
Moonfall stars Oscar winner Halle Berry, Patrick Wilson (Midway, The Conjuring films), John Bradley (Game of Thrones), Michael Peña (Battle: Los Angeles), Charlie Plummer (All the Money in the World), Kelly Yu, Eme Ikwuakor (On My Block), Carolina Bartczak (X-Men: Apocalypse), and Donald Sutherland (The Hunger Games films).

Moonfall is directed by Roland Emmerich (Independence Day, The Day After Tomorrow, 2012) from a screenplay he co-wrote with Harald Kloser and Spenser Cohen. It is produced by Emmerich, and Kloser, with Dennis Wang, James Wang, J.P. Pettinato, Marco Shepherd, Ute Emmerich, Carsten Lorenz, and Stuart Ford serving as executive producers.
