Exclusive The Addams Family Clip Features Director Discussing Original Ending

ComingSoon is excited to debut an exclusive The Addams Family clip from the new special features on the 4K release of the 1991 Oscar-nominated film. The movie is available now on Digital with the physical 4K UHD Blu-ray from Paramount Pictures Home Entertainment releasing on November 9, 2021 (pre-order here).

The clip features director Barry Sonnenfeld discussing the original ending and disclosing how the film’s Uncle Fester (Christopher Lloyd) ended up being part of the family in the plot due to the cast’s efforts.

“When long-lost Uncle Fester (Christopher Lloyd) reappears after twenty-five years in the Bermuda Triangle, Gomez (Raul Julia) and Morticia Addams (Anjelica Huston) plan a celebration to wake the dead,” reads the official synopsis. “But their daughter Wednesday (Christina Ricci) barely has time to warm up her electric chair before Thing points out Fester’s uncommonly ‘normal’ behavior. Could this Fester be a fake, part of an evil scheme to raid the Addams fortune?”

Based on the Charles Addams’ cartoons and following the success of the hit TV series, the movie was written by Caroline Thompson and Larry Wilson.
