RLJE Films has released the official trailer for the upcoming crime thriller drama titled South of Heaven, starring Jason Sudeikis and Evangeline Lilly. The film is set to make its debut in theaters and on VOD on October 8.
The South of Heaven trailer features Sudeikis’ Jimmy, a convict who gets early parole because of his dying girlfriend. However, their last year together hits a snag when Jimmy suddenly finds himself in trouble again with a local crime boss.

South of Heaven is directed by Aharon Keshales (Big Bad Wolves). The film stars Jason Sudeikis (Ted Lasso), Evangeline Lilly (Ant-Man and the Wasp), Shea Whigham (American Hustle), and Mike Colter (Luke Cage).
“Convicted felon Jimmy gets early parole after serving twelve years for armed robbery,” reads the official synopsis. “Upon his release, he vows to give his girlfriend Annie, who is dying of cancer, the best last year of her life. But things are never that simple, and when he is given a “side job” from his parole officer, it sets off a series of events that leaves Jimmy in the crosshairs of a local crime boss. Now, he must stop at nothing to save Annie and fight for whatever time they have left.”

For his acclaimed leading performance as Ted Lasso in the Apple TV+ comedy series, Sudeikis is currently nominated for four Emmy Awards including Outstanding Lead Actor, and Outstanding Writing. Meanwhile, Lilly is currently in production for Marvel Studios’ Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, which is slated for a 2023 release.
