Free Guy Featurette Spotlights Taika Waititi’s Villainous Antwan

20th Century Studios has released a brand new character featurette for Shawn Levy’s long-awaited action-comedy film Free Guy, which is set to hit the theaters on August 13. The Free Guy featurette gives the spotlight to Oscar-winner Taika Waititi’s antagonistic role of Antwan, with Levy and Jodie Comer teasing his hilarious and genius performance in the upcoming film. In addition, a new clip has also been revealed, featuring Ryan Reynolds’ titular NPC character as he meets Joe Kerry’s Keys and Utkarsh Ambudkar’s Mouse, who both think that Guy is being controlled by a secret player.

In Free Guy, a bank teller who discovers he is actually a background player in an open-world video game, decides to become the hero of his own story … one he rewrites himself. Now in a world where there are no limits, he is determined to be the guy who saves his world his way … before it is too late.

Joining Ryan Reynolds are Jodie Comer, Lil Rel Howery, Joe Keery, Utkarsh Ambudkar, and Taika Waititi, who is reuniting with Reynolds after previously starring together in the infamous DC film Green Lantern in 2011.

The film will also feature cameos from some of the video gaming world’s most popular influencers including Imane “Pokimane” Anys, Lannan “LazarBeam” Eacott, Seán William “Jacksepticeye” McLoughlin, Tyler “Ninja” Blevins, and Daniel “DanTDM” Middleton.

Free Guy is directed by Shawn Levy (Stranger Things, Night at the Museum franchise) from a script written by Matt Lieberman and Zak Penn, based on a story by Lieberman. Producers are Ryan Reynolds, Shawn Levy, Sarah Schechter, Greg Berlanti, and Adam Kolbrenner with Mary McLaglen, Josh McLaglen, George Dewey, Dan Levine, and Michael Riley McGrath serving as executive producers.
