Escape Room Champions Team Up in New Sequel Clip

Ahead of its theatrical release this Friday, Sony Pictures has released a three-minute-long clip from their upcoming survival horror Escape Room: Tournament of Champions. The video, which you can check out below, features an extended look at the Escape Room champions’ first challenge. They must now quickly work together and find all the clues before they all get electrocuted by the subway train. 

Its current theatrical release date sees Escape Room 2 going up against a high-profile competition in the form of Warner Bros. Pictures’ LeBron James-led sequel Space Jam: A New Legacy

Escape Room: Tournament of Champions is the sequel to the box office hit psychological thriller that terrified audiences around the world, which earned a worldwide gross of over $155 million against a reported $9 million budget. In this installment, six people unwittingly find themselves locked in another series of escape rooms, slowly uncovering what they have in common to survive…and discovering they’ve all played the game before.

The sequel stars Taylor Russell (Bones & All), Logan Miller (Love, Simon), Indya Moore (Pose), Holland Roden (Teen Wolf), Thomas Cocquerel (The 100), and Carlito Olivero (Bad Samaritan).

Escape Room: Tournament of Champions is directed and executive produced by Adam Robitel from a screenplay written by Will Honley, Oren Uziel, Maria Melnik, and Daniel Tuch, based on a story by Honley, Christine Lavaf, and Fritz Bohm. It is executive produced by Karina Rahardja, and Philip Waley, with Neal H. Moritz producing.
