Witness the Bloody Origin in The King’s Man Special Look Featurette

20th Century Studios has released a brand new behind-the-scenes featurette for their long-gestated Kingsman prequel to Matthew Vaughn’s action spy films. The King’s Man featurette, which you can check out below, highlights the franchise’s legacy including various action-packed scenes from the first two Taron Egerton-led films along with new footage teasing the origin of the spy agency.

Starring Ralph Fiennes, the film has been delayed seven times now and was originally set for a 2019 release. It is currently slated to arrive in theaters on December 22, 2021, which pits it against Warner Bros. Pictures’ The Matrix 4 and the animated sequel Sing 2.

The King’s Man follows a collection of history’s worst tyrants and criminal masterminds as they gather to plot a war to wipe out millions. Now, one man must race against time to stop them. Along the way, viewers can discover the origins of the very first independent intelligence agency in The King’s Man.

The prequel is directed by Matthew Vaughn from a screenplay he co-wrote with Karl Gajdusek. The stars Ralph Fiennes, Gemma Arterton, Rhys Ifans, Matthew Goode, Tom Hollander, Harris Dickinson, Daniel Brühl, with Djimon Hounsou, and Charles Dance.

At the end of Kingsman: The Golden Circle, Eggsy married a Crown Princess of Sweden, Harry was officially back in the fold, and Tequila (Channing Tatum) joined the Kingsman. It’s unclear whether all three will return for the sequel, or if Tequila’s former Statesman partners, Ginger Ale (Halle Berry) and Champ (Jeff Bridges) will come back as well.
