Last Night in Soho Teaser Previews Edgar Wright’s Psychological Thriller

Focus Features has finally released the first footage for director Edgar Wright’s long-delayed psychological thriller Last Night in Soho, confirming that the full trailer will officially be arriving tomorrow. Originally scheduled for a 2020 release, the film has been delayed two times now due to the ongoing pandemic and is currently slated to arrive in theaters on October 22, 2021.

The video offers our first look at Golden Globe winner Anya Taylor-Joy and Thomasin McKenzie’s characters Sandy and Eloise as they take us into 1960s London. Check out the Last Night in Soho teaser in the player below.

Last Night in Soho will follow a young girl, passionate in fashion design, who is mysteriously able to enter the 1960s where she encounters her idol, a dazzling wannabe singer. But 1960s London is not what it appears, and time seems to fall apart with shady consequences…

The psychological thriller will be led by Thomasin Harcourt McKenzie (Leave No Trace, Jojo Rabbit) as Eloise, Golden Globe winner Anya Taylor-Joy (The Queen’s Gambit), and Emmy Award-nominated actor Matt Smith (The Crown). It will also feature Rita Tushingham, Terence Stamp, Jessie Mei Li, Michael Ajao, Synnøve Karlsen, Lisa McGrills, Margaret Nolan, and the late veteran actress Diana Rigg in her final film following her death in September of 2020 at the age of 82.

From Focus Features and Working Title Films, Last Night in Soho is directed by Edgar Wright from a script he co-wrote with Krysty Wilson-Cairns (Penny Dreadful). Wright describes the project as in the same vein as Don’t Look Now and Roman Polanski’s Repulsion. Producers are Nira Park, Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner, and Wright. Focus Features and Universal Pictures International will distribute the film worldwide.
