Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard Trailer Previews a Killer Threesome

Lionsgate has released the full Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard trailer for their highly-anticipated action-comedy sequel, starring Ryan Reynolds, Samuel L. Jackson, and Salma Hayek as they make their respective return as an unlicensed bodyguard, a sadistic hitman, and a homicidal baby mama. The video provided lots of new footage that highlights the trio’s crazy antics, with the Kincaids continuing to make Michael Bryce’s life a living hell by disrupting his sabbatical from bodyguarding. It also features a closer look at the other new cast members including Antonio Banderas, Morgan Freeman, and Frank Grillo. The sequel is scheduled to arrive in theaters on June 16.

In the Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard film, the world’s most lethal odd couple – bodyguard Michael Bryce and hitman Darius Kincaid – are back on another life-threatening mission. Still unlicensed and under scrutiny, Bryce is forced into action by Darius’s even more volatile wife, the infamous international con artist Sonia Kincaid. As Bryce is driven over the edge by his two most dangerous protectees, the trio gets in over their heads in a global plot and soon finds that they are all that stands between Europe and a vengeful and powerful madman. Joining in the fun and deadly mayhem is Morgan Freeman as… well, you’ll have to see.

The sequel sees the return of Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool franchise), Samuel L. Jackson (Spider-Man: Far From Home), Salma Hayek (Eternals), and Richard E. Grant (Star Wars: Rise of the Skywalker), who are reprising their roles as Michael Bryce, Darius Kincaid, Sonia Kincaid, and Seifert, respectively. 

Joining them are new cast members including Academy Award-winner Morgan Freeman, Antonio Banderas, Frank Grillo, Caroline Goodall, Rebecca Front, Gabriella Wright, Alice McMillan, Kristofer Kamiyasu, Tom Hopper, and Blake Ritson.

Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard is once again directed by Patrick Hughes from a screenplay written by original writer Tom O’Connor along with Phillip and Brandon Murphy. Producers are Millennium Media’s Matt O’Toole with Campbell Grobman Films’ Les Weldon, Christa Campbell, and Lati Grobman. It is being executive produced by Avi Lerner, Trevor Short, Boaz Davidson, Jeffrey Greenstein, Heidi Jo Markel, and Jonathan Yunger.

The Hitman’s Bodyguard was released on August 18, 2017, and grossed over $180 million worldwide which featured an ensemble cast that included Gary Oldman, Elodie Yung, Joaquim de Almeida, Kirsty Mitchell and Richard E. Grant alongside Reynolds, Jackson and Hayek.
