2020: A year so [insert adjective of choice here], even the creators of Black Mirror couldn’t make it up… but that doesn’t mean they don’t have a little something to add. Death To 2020 is a comedy event that tells the story of the dreadful year that was — and perhaps still is? This landmark documentary-style special weaves together some of the world’s most (fictitious) renowned voices with real-life archival footage spanning the past 12 months.

The comedy event special will feature MCU star Samuel L. Jackson, Friends alum Lisa Kudrow, Saturday Night Live alum Leslie Jones, and Golden Globe winner Hugh Grant as  they take on new personas. It will also star Kumail Nanjiani (Lovebirds, Silicon Valley), Tracey Ullman (The Tracey Ullman Show), Cristin Milioti (How I Met Your Mother, Palm Springs), Samson Kayo (Truth Seekers), Diane Morgan (Wipe), and Stranger Things star Joe Keery.

The mockumentary will be directed by Al Campbell with Black Mirror creators Charlie Brooker and Annabel Jones executive producing through their Broke and Bones banner. Alison Marlow is also serving as a producer.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, many people have actually described the world’s current situation as another episode of Black Mirror. That’s why it’s interesting to see which of this year’s crazy events Booker decided to adapt to screen.
