Intrigo: Dear Agnes trailer: Gemma Chan stars in new thriller film
Lionsgate has released the official trailer for director Daniel Alfredson’s upcoming thriller film titled Intrigo: Dear Agnes, featuring The Eternals star Gemma Chan as she hires her friend to kill her cheating husband. The film will have its theatrical release in select theaters and on Demand on May 8. Check out the video in the player below!
Based on bestselling Swedish author Håkan Nesser’s book trilogy of the same name, Intrigo: Agnes is an intense thriller about good friends and evil deeds. With the death of her husband, Agnes is desperate for money. Then she runs into her old friend Henny (Gemma Chan, Captain Marvel), who is enraged at her unfaithful spouse, Peter (Jamie Sives, “Chernobyl”). Henny makes Agnes a shocking offer—enough cash to live a better life, if she will murder Peter—leading to an explosive, unforgettable climax.
The film stars Carla Juri (Blade Runner 2049) as Agnes, Gemma Chan (Crazy Rich Asians, The Eternals) as Henny, and Jamie Sives (Chernobyl) as Peter. It will also feature Cal MacAninch, Jason Wong, John Sessions, Laurie Kynaston and Predag Bjelac.
Intrigo: Agnes is directed by Daniel Alfredson (The Girl Who Played With Fire), who co-wrote the script with Birgitta Bongenhielm. Alfredson was also the one who directed the two other Intrigo films: Death of an Author starring Ben Kingsley; and Samaria starring Phoebe Fox.
