Hala Trailer: First look at new coming-of-age film for Apple TV+
Apple TV has released the official trailer for executive producer Jada Pinkett Smith’s upcoming coming-of-age drama film Hala, highlighting the struggles of growing up as a teenage girl living in two different cultures. Starring Australian actress Geraldine Viswanathan (Blockers), the film will have its theatrical release in selected theaters on November 22 and will be available for streaming on December 6 on Apple TV+. Hala follows the story of seventeen-year-old Pakistani American teenager Hala (Geraldine Viswanathan), who struggles to balance desire with her familial, cultural and religious obligations. As she comes into her own, she grapples with a secret that threatens to unravel her family.
The film will also star Jack Kilmer (Palo Alto) as Jesse, Gabriel Luna (Terminator: Dark Fate) as Mr. Lawrence and Purbi Joshi as Eram along with Anna Chlumsky, and Azad Khan.

The film is written and directed by Minhal Baig. It is produced by Baig, Clarence Hammond, James Lassiter and Jamal M. Watson with Jada Pinkett Smith serving as an executive producer.
Hala had its world premiere at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival in January.
