New The Good Liar Trailer Reveals A Dangerous Game of Deception

Warner Bros. Pictures and New Line Cinema have released a new trailer for their upcoming thriller The Good Liar, featuring Oscar winner Helen Mirren (The Queen) and Oscar nominee Ian McKellen (Lord of the Rings film franchise) as they play a dangerous game of deception and secrecy. The film will hit theaters on November 15. Based on the novel by Nicholas Searle, The Good Liar follows a career con artist Roy Courtnay (McKellen), who can hardly believe his luck when he meets well-to-do widow Betty McLeish (Mirren) online. As Betty opens her home and life to him, Roy is surprised to find himself caring about her, turning what should be a cut-and-dry swindle into the most treacherous tightrope walk of his life.

The film will also star Russell Tovey (Quantico) as Steven, Jim Carter  (Downton Abbey) as Vincent, Mark Lewis Jones as Bryn and Laurie Davidson.

It is directed by Academy Award-winning screenwriter Bill Condon from a screenplay written by Jeffrey Hatcher (Mr. Holmes). Condon produces alongside producer Greg Yolen. Serving as executive producers are Jack Morrissey, Nick O’Hagan, Aaron L. Gilbert, Richard Brener, Andrea Johnston and Jason Cloth. A New Line Cinema presentation, in association with BRON Creative, The Good Liar will be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Entertainment Company.

This project will be fourth collaboration between McKellen and Condon, who have worked on Gods and MonstersMr. Holmes and Beauty and the Beast.
