Saban Films has released the official trailer for Oscar winner Casey Affleck’s forthcoming post-apocalyptic survival drama Light of My Life, highlighting a father’s determination to protect his child. The film had its world premiere last February at the Berlin International Film Festival and it is scheduled to be released in theaters and on VOD on August 9. Check out the video in the player below!

Written and directed by Casey Affleck (Manchester by the Sea, I’m Still Here), Light of My Life follows the story of a parent and child as they journey through the outskirts of society a decade after a pandemic has wiped out half of the world’s population. As a father struggles to protect his child, their bond, and the character of humanity, is tested.
The drama film stars Affleck as the father, newcomer Anna Pniowsky as Rag, and Emmy Award-winning actress Elisabeth Moss (The Handmaid’s Tale) as the mother along with Tom Bower as Tom, Timothy Webber as Lemmy and Hrothgar Matthews as Calvin.
