Netflix’s The Silence trailer shows a world where sound is deadly
The new trailer for the Netflix suspense/horror The Silence is here, which follows a family as they try to navigate a world pushed to the brink by a mysterious invasion of creatures who hunt with sound. Sure, it’s a little like A Quiet Place, but The Silence has its characters not only have to contend with these mysterious creatures, they also have to deal with their fellow humans who are taking some extreme positions on the new world. You can check out the trailer, and the film’s poster, below!
The Silence is the story of a family struggling to survive in a world terrorized by a deadly, primeval species who have bred for decades in the pitch darkness of a vast underground cave system, hunting only with their acute hearing. As the family seeks refuge in a remote haven where they can wait out the invasion, they start to wonder what kind of world will remain when they’re ready to emerge.
Directed by John Leonetti (Annabelle), The Silence stars Kiernan Shipka (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina) as a 16-year-old who lost her hearing three years earlier. Co-starring are Stanley Tucci (The Lovely Bones, Spotlight), Miranda Otto (Homeland, Annabelle: Creation) and John Corbett (Sex and the City). The film is produced by Robert Kulzer (Resident Evil), Alexandra Milchan (Wolf of Wall Street) and Scott Lambert (The Terror), with Constantin CEO Martin Moszkowicz (Resident Evil) serving as executive producer.
You can catch The Silence when it premieres on Netflix April 10.
