After a long journey to getting made and a premiere at the Glasgow Film Festival, Karen Gillan’s directorial debut The Party’s Just Beginning has released its first poster and trailer, both of which can be viewed in full below!

Written, produced and directed by the Guardians of the Galaxy star, the film follows Liusaidh, a young Scottish woman who is struggling to cope with the her best friend’s suicide, resorting to sex and alcohol to deal with her death as well as the struggles in her own life.

The film, which is executive produced by Boman Modine (Swedish Dicks), Tien-Huei Grace Yeh (City of Dreams), Sloan Martin and Albert Gersten, also reunites Gillan and Lee Pace (Guardians of the Galaxy) while also starring Paul Higgins (Apostle), Matthew Beard (Johnny English Strikes Again), Siobhan Redmond (Alice Through the Looking Glass) and Jamie Quinn (Two Doors Down).

The Party’s Just Beginning premiered at the Glasgow Film Festival in February and the Tribeca Film Festival in April, where its rights were acquired by The Orchard and it garnered generally positive reviews from critics.

The film is set for a limited theatrical release on December 7 followed by a video on demand release on December 11.
