Ryan Reynolds Reveals Deadpool 2 PG-13 Photo

Fox recently revealed that Deadpool 2 would be returning to theaters this Christmas season in another new edit, only this time around it will be a Deadpool 2 PG-13. Star Ryan Reynolds took to Twitter to tease the re-release that features Fred Savage reprising his role from the 1987 romantic adventure The Princess Bride.

The Hollywood Reporter has also brought word that Reynolds is teaming up with Night at the Museum‘s Shawn Levy to star in the upcoming sci-fi action comedy Free Guy from Fox. In the vein of hits such as Wreck-It-Ralph, the film will follow a background character who discovers he lives in a video game and works to prevent the makers of the game from shutting it down with the help of an avatar.

Free Guy will be produced by Reynolds, Levy, Sarah Schecter and Greg Berlanti and is written by Matt Lieberman, who is currently working on the upcoming animated reboot of The Addams Family, an in-development animated Scooby-Doo film and a remake of the 1986 hit Short Circuit.

Directed by David Leitch, Deadpool 2 finds Ryan Reynolds reprises his role as the Merc with a Mouth alongside Zazie Beetz (Atlanta) as the luck-manipulating mutant Domino and Josh Brolin as Cable, the time-traveling son of the X-Men’s Cyclops. Jack Kesy (The StrainBaywatch) stars as Black Tom, with Japanese actress Shioli Kutsuna and Julian Dennison (Hunt for the Wilderpeople) playing Yukio and Firefist.

Other stars returning from the first Deadpool include Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, Morena Baccarin as Vanessa, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, and Stefan Kapicic as the voice of Colossus. The sequel was written by Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick and Ryan Reynolds.

The re-release of the film comes as Fox shuffles around its release calendar, pushing back Alita: Battle Angel to Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14, 2019, Dark Phoenix to June 7, 2019 and Gambit to March 2020.

The PG-13 cut of Deadpool 2 will be hitting theaters on Dec. 21.
