Andie MacDowell Joins Fox Searchlight’s Ready or Not

According to Deadline, Andie MacDowell has joined the cast of Fox Searchlight’s forthcoming thriller film Ready or Not which stars Samara Weaving (Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri). The film’s production is scheduled to start this fall.

MacDowell is best known for her roles in films such as Groundhog Day starring alongside Bill Murray; the original Four Weddings and a Funeral, which earned her a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy; and her critically acclaim role as Ann Bishop Mullany in the drama film Sex, Lies, and Videotape that won her an Independent Spirit Award for Best Female Lead.

Ready or Not follows the story of a young bride who is invited on the night of her wedding by her rich and eccentric in-laws to participate in a time-honored tradition that turns into a lethal game of survival with everyone fighting to stay alive. The film is scheduled to start filming in the fall.

Last year, Fox Searchlight acquired the rights for film in a intense bidding war against other studios. Ready or Not will be directed by directing team duo Tyler Gillett and Matt Bettinelli-Oplin of the filmmaking group Radio Silence. The film’s script was co-written by Guy Busick and Ryan Murphy.

The producers are Tripp Vinson of Vinson Films and James Vanderblit, Bradley Fischer, and William Sherak of Mythology Entertainment. Tara Farney, Tracey Nyberg, and Radio Silence’s Chad Villella are the film’s executive producers.

Weaving is an Australian actress who is best known for her role in the award-winning drama film Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri which she starred alongside Academy-Award winners Frances McDormand (Fargo,Isle of Dogs) and Sam Rockwell (Green Mile, Backseat, Jojo Rabbit). She was recently seen in the Australian romantic drama series Picnic at Hanging Rock which also stars Natalie Dormer (Game of Thrones).
