A Quiet Place Sequel & Top Gun 2 Set for 2020 Release

Paramount has announced that the sequel to the smash horror hit A Quiet Place and the highly anticipated Top Gun 2 have both been set for release in 2020. The A Quiet Place sequel will premiere on May 15, 2020, while Top Gun 2’s original release date of July 12, 2019, has been pushed back to June 26, 2020.

In addition, the upcoming sixth Terminator movie and the Sonic the Hedgehog movies have both been moved up a week. The new Terminator will move from November 22, 2019 to November 15, 2019, with Sonic shifting from November 15, 2019 to November 8, 2019.

A Quiet Place was directed by John Krasinski, who starred opposite his real-life wife Emily Blunt. Noah Jupe (SuburbiconWonder) and Millicent Simmonds (Wonderstruck).

Top Gun: Maverick is the sequel to the 1986 hit, with original cast members Tom Cruise and Val Kilmer reprising their roles alongside Glen Powell (Hidden Figures), Jennifer Connelly (A Beautiful Mind), Miles Teller (Whiplash), Jon Hamm (Mad Men), Ed Harris (Westworld), Lewis Pullman (Bad Times at the El Royale), Thomasin McKenzie (Jojo Rabbit), Charles Parnell (A Million Little Pieces), Jay Ellis (Insecure), Bashir Salahuddin (GLOW), Danny Ramirez (Assassination Nation), and Monica Barbaro (The Good Cop). Joseph Kosinski, who previously directed Cruise in Oblivion, will helm the sequel.

Mackenzie Davis (Blade Runner 2049Halt and Catch Fire) leads the new movie, with Arnold Schwarzenegger (reportedly sporting a beard!) and Linda Hamilton returning as their iconic characters. The sequel also features Natalia Reyes (Lady, La Vendedora de Rosas) and Diego Boneta (Scream Queens), as well as Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD‘s Gabriel Luna as the new Terminator. Directed by Tim Miller the film will be produced by series creator James Cameron.
