McG has become attached to produce and potentially direct a feature film adaptation of Gitty Daneshvari’s School of Fear series. The first book published in 2009, the children’s series is officially described as follows:
With very few options left, the parents of these four twelve year-olds send them to the highly elusive and exclusive School of Fear to help them overcome their phobias. But when their peculiar teacher, Mrs. Wellington, and her unconventional teaching methods turn out to be more frightening than even their fears, the foursome realize that this just may be the scariest summer of their lives.
McG, best known for films like Charlie’s Angels and Terminator Salvation, recently signed on to direct Magic Castle at 20th Century Fox.
Daniel Mackey will provide the screenplay for the School of Fear, which is also being produced by Daniel Crown, Scott Fischer, Daniela Taplin Lundberg, Riva Marker and Mary Viola.
