Although he’ll potentially be launching a brand new action franchise with the upcoming Jack Reacher, Tom Cruise today tells Total Film that another adventure of Ethan Hunt is in the works as well.
?We?re already working on different images,” says Cruise of a fifth Mission: Impossible film. “Talking conceptually. I love traveling around promoting different movies because I?m always looking at different places, and I always walk around to see the city. I look at architecture, subways… coming up with different sequences.?
The most recent film, Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, was released in late 2011 and grossed nearly $700 million at the worldwide box office. If the audience stays strong for another sequel, Cruise thinks that the series could go on indefinitely.
“I?ll make as many as people want to see,” he says. “because they?re very challenging and so much fun to make.?
Jack Reacher, meanwhile, will hit theaters everywhere on December 21.
