Deadpool 2's David Leitch In Talks For Enter The Dragon Remake

Deadpool 2’s David Leitch In Talks For Enter The Dragon Remake

David Leitch, who was behind the camera on this year’s smash hit Deadpool 2, has begun early talks to helm the upcoming remake to the Bruce Lee 1973 classic Enter the Dragon, according to Deadline.

The original Enter the Dragon, which was Lee’s final film before his death, was a massive success upon release, grossing over $90 million worldwide when it hit theaters. It’s also considered one of the greatest martial arts movies of all time and was selected for preservation in the National Film Registry by the Library of Congress in 2004.

Enter the Dragon followed a Shaolin martial artist who is pressed by a British intelligence agent to enter a karate tournament on the island owned by the crime lord Han, who is suspected for using the tournament for drug trafficking and prostitution.

Leitch is quickly becoming The Rock of directing projects. He’s put the pedal to the metal since his solo directorial debut with 2017’s Atomic Blonde, following it up with Deadpool 2. He is currently set to direct the upcoming Fast & Furious spin-off Hobbs & Shaw, which begins production in September, as well as a film adaptation of Tom Clancy’s The Division, which is still in development.
