Fox sets date for Woman in the Window, pushes back Bad Times
Deadline reports that 20th Century Fox has given an official release date for the upcoming thriller adaptation The Woman in the Window and pushed the release of Bad Times at the El Royale back by one week. The Woman in the Window will arrive on October 4, 2019 and Bad Times at the El Royale will now premiere on October 12, 2018.
The Woman in the Window tells the story of Dr. Anna Fox (Amy Adams), a recluse in New York City who drinks her days away alone in her apartment, watching classic films and her neighbors. When the Russells move into the house across the way, Anna sees the ideal family and spies on them, only to witness a shocking event that changes her life.
The date move for Bad Times is most likely to place it in a better situation, as it was set to share the October 5 release date with the anticipated Venom and the Bradley Cooper, Lady Gaga starer A Star is Born. Bad Times at the El Royale is said to take place in the 1960s at a rundown hotel, centering on a cast of characters whose own shady agendas will violently collide: “Seven strangers, each with a secret to bury, meet at Lake Tahoe’s El Royale, a rundown hotel with a dark past. Over the course of one fateful night, everyone will have a last shot at redemption… before everything goes to hell.”
Alongside Chris Hemsworth (Avengers: Infinity War, Thor: Ragnarok), the film stars Jon Hamm (Mad Men, Tag), Jeff Bridges (The Big Lebowski, Kingsman: The Golden Circle), Dakota Johnson (Fifty Shades series), Cynthia Erivo (Widows), Nick Offerman (Parks and Recreation) and Cailee Spaeny (Pacific Rim Uprising). Bad Times at the El Royale is written and directed by Drew Goddard.
