Production Begins on Crypto, Starring Kurt Russell & Alexis Bledel

Today it was announced that Yale Productions has started production on their upcoming thriller Crypto. The film will be directed by John Stalberg, Jr., which will mark his sophomore feature after the debut of High School.

Equal parts The Firm-style financial thriller and The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo-type crime drama, Crypto follows a young anti-money laundering agent named Martin (Beau Knapp) tasked with investigating a tangled web of corruption and fraud in his remote New York hometown, where his father Martin Sr (Kurt Russell) and brother Caleb (Luke Hemswoth) are struggling to maintain their family farm in a changing economic landscape.  Martin quickly finds himself enmeshed in a dangerous underworld populated by Katie (Alexis Bledel), an art dealer with mysterious intentions, Earl (Jeremie Harris), a crypto-currency enthusiast turned cyber-sleuth, and Ted (Vincent Kartheiser), a corrupt accountant doing the bidding of ruthless clients.

“I am overjoyed to be working with such an incredible cast to bring this timely, thrilling story to life,” commented director John Stalberg, Jr. “Beau is incredibly talented, and seeing him bring this character to life opposite talent like Alexis, Kurt, Luke, Jeremie and Vincent, has been a dream come true.”

Producers Jordan Yale Levine and Jordan Beckerman added, “Cryptocurrency has captured the attention and imagination of consumers and entrepreneurs all over the world, but has never been explored in film in such a nuanced and exciting way. We can’t wait to bring this film to audiences across the globe.”

Beau Knapp (Seven Seconds, The Nice Guys), Alexis Bledel (The Handmaid’s Tale, Gilmore Girls), Kurt Russell (The Hateful Eight), Luke Hemsworth (Westworld), Jeremie Harris (Legion) and Vincent Kartheiser (Mad Men) will lead the cast of Crypto.

Crypto was written by Carlyle Eubank (The Signal) and David Frigerio (The Signal) based on an original story by Jeffrey Ingber, and produced by Yale Productions’ Jordan Yale Levine and Jordan Beckerman, along with David Frigerio.
