Oscar winner Sam Rockwell (Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri) is reteaming with his Iron Man 2 co-star Scarlett Johansson for the upcoming Fox Searchlight film Jojo Rabbit, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The movie is about Jojo, a young boy who longs to be part of the Hitler Youth and whose imaginary friend is Adolph Hitler. He discovers a Jewish girl living in his attic and tries to find ways to get rid of her.
Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok) wrote and will direct the project and will star as the boy’s imaginary friend. Johansson is playing Jojo’s mother, while Rockwell will play a Nazi captain who runs a Hitler Youth camp.
In addition to writing, directing and starring in Jojo Rabbit, Waititi is producing the film with Carthew Neal and Chelsea Winstanley. Production on the film is set to begin this spring.
