Universal Sets June 2020 Release for Dwayne Johnson's Red Notice

Dwayne Johnson’s Red Notice Set for June 2020 Release Date

After a high profile bidding war for the film that included such major players as Warner Bros., Paramount, Sony and even Netflix, Universal Pictures won the rights to the upcoming Red Notice back in February. Now, the studio has announced they’ve set a June 12, 2020 release date for the action-thriller. Currently no other film is slated for that release date, but Red Notice will open between an Untitled DCEU movie on June 5, 2020 and an Untitled Pixar movie on June 19, 2020.

In the film, global superstar Dwayne Johnson reteams with his Central Intelligence writer/director, Rawson Marshall Thurber, to lead the cast of Red Notice. The pair also collaborated on the upcoming Skyscraper.

In the international action-thriller, Johnson plays an Interpol agent tasked with capturing the most wanted art thief in the world. “Red Notice” refers to the highest and most serious of Interpol notices (there are eight) and concerns the arrest of wanted criminals.

Red Notice will be produced by the returning Skyscraper team, including Beau Flynn (Rampage, San Andreas) for his Flynn Picture Co.; Johnson, Dany Garcia (Jumanji, Ballers) and Hiram Garcia (San Andreas, Central Intelligence) for their Seven Bucks Productions; and Thurber for his Bad Version, Inc. Wendy Jacobson (Rampage, San Andreas) executive produces.

Red Notice will be released by Universal Pictures. Johnson can next be seen in Rampage on April 13 and Skyscraper on July 13.
