Cheryl Hines to direct second feature, Revenge Wedding
CBS Films announced today that Emmy-nominated actress Cheryl Hines will direct the comedy Revenge Wedding for the studio.
Revenge Wedding begins when a woman discovers that her wealthy fiancé is cheating on her and enlists her best friend and a crew of miscreant lowlifes to transform their perfect wedding into a circus of revenge.
“Everyone who has ever been devastated by betrayal will revel in the heart and redemption in this funny adventure,” said Hines.
CBS Films President Terry Press commented, “Cheryl is astute, and being a well-respected comedian herself is a magnet for smart comedic talent, we could not be more excited about her taking the helm on ‘Revenge Wedding.’”
Jordan Schur (Warrior, Stone), Andrew O’Connor (That Awkward Moment, Magicians) and Suzanne Todd (Bad Moms, Alice in Wonderland) are serving as producers. The screenplay was written by David White (Henry’s Crime, Boyka: Undisputed), Tamara Chestna (Other People’s Love Letters, The Art of More) and Keith Merryman & David A. Newman (Think Like a Man Too, Friends with Benefits).
Hines is most well known for playing Larry David’s wife, Cheryl, on HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm and was most recently seen on the big screen in A Bad Moms Christmas. She made her directorial debut with the 2009 black comedy Serious Moonlight, starring Meg Ryan, Timothy Hutton, Kristen Bell, and Justin Long.
