Disney Puts The Order of the Seven on Indefinite Hold

Walt Disney Pictures has put their upcoming project The Order of the Seven on indefinite hold, according to a story at The Hollywood Reporter. The film’s large budget is cited as a likely reason for the project to either be reworked or cancelled altogether.

Planned to star Saoirse Ronan (Hanna, Antonement) and to be directed by Michael Gracey, the film was formerly titled Snow and the Seven and was originally planned to be a re-telling of “Snow White” set in 19th Century China and dealing with an Englishwoman who is protected by a band of international warriors. The most recent update suggested that direct references to the “Snow White” tale had been dropped from the project.
