Universal Pictures sets their untitled Fast & Furious spinoff for 2019

Yesterday, the news broke that Fast & Furioushad been pushed until 2020. Today we may have learned the reason why. Universal Pictures has announced that the upcoming Fast & Furious spinoff is set to be released on Friday, July 26, 2019. The film will star Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham.

The Fate of the Furious, which hit theaters on April 14, 2017, reunited Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson and Chris ‘Ludacris’ Bridges in a heart-stopping new adventure that also features Charlize Theron, Kurt Russell and Scott Eastwood.

The Fate of the Furious earned $1.238 billion at the worldwide box office, with $225.7 million coming from North American theaters and $1.013 billion internationally.
