First Death Wish Photos Show Bruce Willis Out for Revenge

Annapurna Pictures and MGM (via Yahoo) have revealed the first photos from their remake of Death Wish, starring Bruce Willis, Vincent D’Onofrio, Kimberly Elise, Mike Epps, and Elisabeth Shue. Check out the Death Wish photos in the gallery below!

“We wanted to bring back that great, classic Bruce Willis we all know and love and just do a fun, badass update of a revered classic,” director Eli Roth revealed. “I wanted to bring Bruce back to that ‘Fifth Element,’ ‘Unbreakable,’ ‘Die Hard’ glory and have him craft another iconic performance, and I really think he did it. I mean I really think this can be his ‘Taken.’ The fun is watching him go crazy and watching someone slowly move the moral goal post. What’s interesting about ‘Death Wish’ is it’s not a CIA guy who’s coming out of retirement, you know, he’s not John Wick, he’s not a professional assassin. He’s a normal guy, he’s a surgeon, he’s a dad, he’s never picked up a gun in his life.”

Charles Bronson starred in the original 1974 Death Wish film (in turn based on a 1972 Brian Garfield novel) as Paul Kersey (Paul Benjamin in the novel), a New York man who turns vigilante following the murder of his wife. The original Death Wish received four sequels (all of which starred Bronson) over the course of the next two decades.

Directed by Eli Roth (Hostel) from a screenplay by Joe Carnahan (The Grey), Death Wish is set to open on November 22, 2017.
